Celebrating 100 Years of the Royal Canadian Legion
Honouring a Century of Service, Remembrance, and Community
On July 17, 2026, the Royal Canadian Legion proudly celebrates an extraordinary milestone—100 years of service to Canada.
For a century, the Legion has stood as a symbol of remembrance, compassion, advocacy, and community. From supporting Veterans and serving military members, RCMP personnel, and their families, to strengthening communities across the country through volunteerism and charitable work, the Royal Canadian Legion has touched countless lives since its founding in 1926.
What began as an organization dedicated to supporting those who served following the First World War has grown into one of Canada's most respected and influential community organizations. Throughout its history, the Legion has championed remembrance, provided essential support to Veterans and their families, invested in youth through scholarships and Cadet programs, advocated on behalf of those who served, and inspired generations of Canadians to give back to their communities.
Behind every Legion branch are dedicated volunteers whose countless hours of service make a meaningful difference every day. Whether organizing remembrance ceremonies, supporting local charities, mentoring young people, fundraising for community initiatives, or simply offering a welcoming place for friendship and connection, Legion members continue to embody the spirit of service that has defined the organization for the past century.
At Royal Canadian Legion TVS Branch 44, we are proud to be part of this remarkable legacy. For decades, our members have worked tirelessly to support Veterans, preserve the stories and sacrifices of those who served, recognize young leaders through education and Cadet programs, and strengthen our community through volunteer service and fellowship.
As we celebrate this historic centennial, we also pause to honour those who came before us. We remember the generations of Veterans, members, and volunteers whose dedication built the foundation upon which today's Legion stands. Their commitment, compassion, and unwavering belief in service continue to inspire us as we look toward the future.
While this anniversary celebrates 100 remarkable years, it is also a reminder that the Legion's work is far from finished. The needs of Veterans continue to evolve, communities continue to grow, and new generations are discovering the importance of remembrance, service, and citizenship. Together, we will continue building on this proud legacy for many years to come.
From everyone at Royal Canadian Legion TVS Branch 44, we extend our heartfelt thanks to every member, volunteer, Veteran, supporter, and community partner who has helped shape this incredible journey.
Happy 100th Birthday, Royal Canadian Legion!
Here's to celebrating a century of remembrance, service, comradeship, and community—and to the next 100 years of making a difference. 🇨🇦
