Branch 44 Represented at the 50th Dominion Convention in Winnipeg

Branch 44 was proudly represented at the 50th Dominion Convention of The Royal Canadian Legion, held in Winnipeg in August 2026.

Representing and attending from our Branch were Douglas Chow, Tong Chow, Lizz Lindsay, Heddy Bing and Valerie MacGregor, bringing a wonderful Branch 44 presence to this important national gathering.

The Dominion Convention brings together Legion members from across Canada to conduct the important business of the organization and help shape its future. Being part of the convention is a significant commitment, with long days filled with workshops, meetings, discussions, resolutions, elections and conversations about how the Legion can continue to better serve Veterans, members and communities across the country.

This year’s convention was especially significant as The Royal Canadian Legion celebrates its 100th anniversary — a remarkable milestone and an opportunity to reflect on a century of service while looking ahead to the future.

It was also a particularly proud convention for Branch 44, as Valerie MacGregor, our Immediate Past President, was elected to continue serving as a Dominion Vice-President. Valerie has served the Legion extensively at the Branch, Zone, Provincial and Dominion levels, and we are incredibly proud to have one of our own serving on the national executive.

For our Branch 44 representatives, the convention offered an invaluable opportunity to learn, exchange ideas and connect with Legion members from across Canada. They returned home with new knowledge, information and inspiration that can be shared and put to work right here at Branch 44.

We are incredibly grateful to Douglas, Tong, Lizz, Heddy and Valerie for representing Branch 44 in Winnipeg and for the time and commitment they continue to give to the Legion.
